About the project
The goal of the Center for Ecological Programs "Live Planet" is to implement an educational program "In concord with nature" in order to instill principles of environmental culture in children and youth. The idea of the program is to encourage children's interest for acquiring knowledge and learning how to learn. This will result in the desire to explore and exercise their talent together with Nature.The program targets holistic development of a child: development of consciousness (including environmental one), broadening of one's outlook in natural sciences, introducing ways to protect and restore natural sites, creation of practical opportunities to take care of nature.
Project activities
Practical goal of the Center is to organize the work of school forest divisions and environmental associations in Tyumen region and other Russian regions. All the activities are carried out by educational psychologists of the Center "Live Planet" in collaboration with school educators and forest rangers.

- games and mini trainings,
- tasks about nature exploration,
- nature trails, excursions, hiking

- experiments and research work,
- landscape projects,
- creation of agitation posters, handouts and leaflets,
- participation in environmental campaigns and contests,
- awareness-building about the role of forest in people's' life and the rule of behaviour in the fores
Together with a forest ranger children:
- study collateral forest uses,
- sow seeds in a school nursery garden,
- plant young trees and take care of them,
- study the basics of protecting forests from fires,
- explore the basics of animals and birds protection - build and hang birdhouses and feedboxes
Practical work:
- planting trees and bushes in the countryside and forests,
- sowing the seeds of coniferous and broadleaved species in a school nursery,
- creating landscape design for an area adjoining the school and for the countryside,
- creating agitation posters, handouts and leaflets,
- awareness-building for school students and rural communities

Achieved results:
- The project was established in 2008,
- 40 school forest divisions were opened and are still operating,
- More than 2800 school students from the Tyumen region have taken part in the project,
- 10 winter seminars and 130 participants,
- 10 Altai and Baikal expeditions, more than 250 participants,
- 11 ecofestivals, more than 1500 participants,
- Annually alumni of the program enter the following educational institutions: Technical School of Forestry, Northern Trans-Ural State Agricultural University, Institute of Earth Science (Tyumen State University) and other ones with similar study programs
